WARDENS ELECTIONS – SUNDAY DECEMBER 3RD

WARDENS ELECTIONS – SUNDAY DECEMBER 3RD

Following the 11am Mass we will be holding nominations and elections for two warden positions. Under Quebec’s Fabrique Act every Catholic parish must have a board of 6 wardens who administer the material goods and property of the parish. Wardens do not have a responsibility to organize the pastoral life of the parish, but do play a vital role in ensuring good governance and the administration of the parish.

This year Norman Hannan and Ron Sullivan’s terms are ending. This is a first term for Ron, thus he is eligible to be re-elected for another three year term.

To be eligible to serve as a warden, a person must be Roman Catholic, over 18 years of age, and live within the boundaries of the parish. St. Ignatius of Loyola’s boundaries are from the west side of Walkley Ave. to the former border of Ville-St-Pierre and Lachine, and from the south side of Cote-St-Luc road to the border of Lasalle. The same rules and residency requirements apply to those who nominate and vote in elections of wardens.
