My wife and I have been members of St. Ignatius Parish for all but two years since 1983, the year we were married. We have three adult children Maria, Evan and Casey. I am a recently retired school teacher, a career spanning 37 years, 31 of which were spent at Loyola High School. There I taught mathematics, science and Catholic religion, a challenging but highly rewarding subject. Seeing young people sincerely explore the role that Christ may play in their lives was a true privilege. I carry this same sentiment to St. Ignatius, hoping to help the parish grow as a place of respite, community and celebration. In the words of Pope Francis: “God offers us salvation in a thousand different ways”.
